Quick & Custom
Have a song idea but no instruments or recording setup? Sondu’s AI music generator lets you start with a simple description. You can also turn your own lyrics into music using Custom mode.
This guide covers writing a prompt, generating a track, and refining your sound.
01
Start with the feeling of the song
Before opening Studio, decide what you want to hear:
Mood: What should the listener feel?
Sound: Which genre, instruments, or rhythm fit?
Voice: Sung vocals or an instrumental track?
You don’t need technical music terms. Describe the mood and a few sounds that matter to you.
EXAMPLE PROMPT
“A hopeful indie-pop song about starting over, with warm piano, crisp drums, and expressive vocals. Make the chorus brighter than the verses.”
This example gives Sondu an emotion, style, and musical direction. Start simply, then add detail after hearing your first version.
02
Choose Quick for a description-based song
Open Studio and select Quick. Enter your idea in the prompt field, or try a sample prompt.
Use specific sounds instead of vague words like “good” or “cool.” Try “soft acoustic guitar,” “punchy dance drums,” or “a quiet opening that builds into a bigger chorus.”
Sign in, then select Generate Music. Check the displayed credit cost before confirming your creation.
03
Listen, then change one thing
Listen to the whole track, including the chorus and ending. Check whether its mood, energy, and vocals match your idea.
If it sounds too busy, simplify the instrument list. If it feels too gentle, ask for a stronger beat. Change one or two details so you can hear the difference.
REVISED PROMPT
“Keep the hopeful indie-pop feel and warm piano. Use tighter drums and make the chorus more energetic.”
Each generation can interpret your words differently. Treat the result as a creative starting point, then refine what matters.
04
Use Custom for lyrics or a specific direction
Switch to Custom when you have your own lyrics. Add your words, choose a genre, and set the musical direction. You can also add a title and choose a vocal style.
Separate your lyrics into verses and choruses. Read them aloud and shorten crowded lines. For a style outside the listed genres, choose Others and describe it.
Want music without singing? Turn on Instrumental in Custom; lyrics aren’t required. Review your settings and credit cost before selecting Generate Music.
05
Find your track in History
History collects your generations and shows their processing or ready state. Return there to find your tracks and revisit an idea.
Keep a copy of prompts you like. Note which moods, instruments, and lyric choices worked. Those details make your next song easier to start.
YOUR TURN
Your first song can be an experiment
Start with one clear idea, listen, and adjust. Choose Quick to explore a description, or Custom for lyrics and instrumentals. You don’t need a perfect prompt to begin making a song with AI.
